The Haryana government has announced that the Agniveer recruitment process under the Agnipath scheme will commence in the state from July 20, with recruitment rallies to be conducted in four phases between July 2026 and March 2027.
The decision was reviewed during a meeting of the State-Level Steering Committee chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who directed district administrations to ensure seamless coordination with the Indian Army for the successful conduct of the recruitment process.

Rastogi said Haryana has consistently made a significant contribution to the country’s Armed Forces and stressed that candidates participating in the recruitment rallies should not face any inconvenience. He instructed all Deputy Commissioners to personally monitor preparations and ensure that necessary arrangements are completed well in advance.
The Chief Secretary also directed that a nodal officer be appointed in every district to facilitate coordination between the Army authorities and the district administration during the recruitment drive.
As part of efforts to encourage more youth to pursue careers in the Armed Forces, the government has proposed setting up dedicated ‘Know Your Armed Forces’ corners in government schools across the state. These information centres will provide students with details about military careers, the recruitment process and opportunities in the Armed Forces. The display material for the initiative will be prepared by the Zonal Recruitment Office.
In another key initiative, the state government has asked the Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department to develop a dedicated digital portal for Agniveers. The portal will maintain records of their education, skills, training and service experience, enabling better employment opportunities in government departments, public sector undertakings and private companies after the completion of their four-year tenure.
Officials said the measures are aimed at strengthening the recruitment process, improving coordination among stakeholders and supporting Agniveers in securing post-service employment through a structured digital database.
